Bluefield College hosted the school’s 41st Annual Mud Pig Day on Thursday, April 25.

Designed to help students celebrate the culmination of the academic year and relax before final exams, the event featured the traditional mud pit and water slide, as well as an obstacle course, corn hole, color throw, inflatable games, food and much more.

“Mud Pig Day is literally like Christmas for Bluefield College,” one student participant said. “It really allows us to bond like one big family. Having the water slide and the mud pit — who can complain! I really enjoyed spending time with my friends. The color throw was a nice way to end things. I enjoyed this day more than anything.”

Free Mud Pig Day t-shirts were also available for students to commemorate the event, which was particularly special for seniors.

“I really enjoyed it, especially because it was our last Mud Pig Day,” said a senior participant. “I enjoyed that time with friends. I love my friends and think of them as family.”

Students said they enjoyed having the outdoor activities and being able to have fun and get a break before finals begin, while others said they were surprised by how many people were participating.

“The entire BC community was out there having so much fun,” a student said. “There were a lot of activities and everyone was doing something different.”
