Question of the Week: Are You Worried about the Coronavirus?
Nearly half a million people in the United States have contracted the coronavirus, and more than 14,000 Americans have died (as of 04-09-20) from the illness. Face-to-face classes at Bluefield College have ceased and have been moved online. Students have been told to keep their distance from others in social settings and to leave home for only essential needs. With all the fear and precaution, we thought we’d find out how BC students are feeling about the pandemic by asking them, “are you worried about the coronavirus?”.

Cierra Cook, Biology (Pre-Med)
Yes, because it’s killing people, and there’s no cure.
-
Ralayah McRae, Biology
Nope, I am not worried because it is in the bubble. This is supposed to happen. Just stay rooted in your Word, pray, have the wisdom not to go out, and you’ll be okay.
-
Shayla Spell, Biology and History
I wasn’t at first, but it’s slowly stressing me out.

Jamie Vest, Elementary Education/Special Education
Yes, I am worried about the coronavirus just because of the impact it’s already had globally. Positive cases are doubling, even tripling in numbers each day, which is the scariest part. I’m also worried about the impact it’s yet to make because some individuals are not following the “stay at home” orders that West Virginia and Virginia have in their states. The more people are out, the faster it spreads.

Abby Castle, Biology
Yes, because it is getting closer to where I live.
