Students Invited to the Dating Game
Bluefield College students are invited to participate in the school’s first ever Dating Game Show, Thursday, February 7 in Harman Chapel.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, members of the Student Activities Leadership Team (SALT), including Jeanna Anderson and Staley Lyle, decided it would be fitting to offer the Dating Game Show as a student activity.
One of America’s classic television game shows, The Dating Game first aired in 1965 and ran off and on in various formats through 1999. Typically, a bachelorette would question three bachelors, who were hidden from her view. At the end of the questioning period, based solely on their responses and sight unseen, she would choose one of the bachelors to go out with on a date paid for by the show. Occasionally, the roles would be reversed with a man questioning three ladies. Either way, the show ended in the creation of a date for those seeking love.
That opportunity will be available to Bluefield College students on February 7. Eight BC students will be selected to participate in the Dating Game Show on campus, and the winners will be treated to a free romantic evening at a local Italian restaurant.
Students are invited to apply to become a contestant on the BC version of the show. Only singles are allowed to apply. Applications are due by Friday, January 25 and are available online at bluefield.edu/datinggame.
