Abbie Bradley is a Bluefield University senior who will be graduating this spring. She has been with the university since the fall of 2022 as a general music major with a concentration in voice and a minor in Christian studies.

Although she worked as a school librarian for a couple of years, Paula Beasley prefers working with college students.
“You guys are a little bit more interested in education as opposed to just running through and grabbing all the picture books,” Beasley said.
Over the past few months Bluefield University has been implementing new initiatives to be used in recruiting efforts. During the summer Bluefield’s marketing team launched the Discover Bluefield Initiative, which provides an open invitation for anyone who wants to visit campus, get connected with admissions staff, and learn more about the program they are interested in.
Bluefield University administrators have decided to change the academic calendar beginning with the 2026-2027 academic year. The most significant change will be that the fall semester will end prior to Thanksgiving. We asked BU students what they thought about the changes. This is what they had to say.
