Bluefield University officially reopened Alumni Hall, welcoming students back to a newly renovated residence space. The upgrades marked an important step in campus life and in meeting the needs of a growing student body.
Brandon Poole, a transfer student from last year, said, “Alumni (Hall) is very nice. You have air conditioning, and you have a room to yourself. I am also with all the kids I am friends with on the third floor.”
Dr. Peterson, president of Bluefield University, said the renovation was motivated by necessity.
“The building had been an eyesore and either needed to be renovated or torn down,” Dr. Peterson said. “We chose to renovate, recognizing the need for more space as the campus population grew.”
With Alumni Hall back in service, Bluefield students can look forward to a more comfortable and modern living environment that supports both their academic and personal success.
“We recognized the importance of creating spaces that not only meet modern standards but also excite our students,” Dr. Peterson added. “We felt these improvements would have a great impact on campus life. Hopefully, these upgrades show our commitment to providing students with the best environment for them to learn and to succeed.
Dr. Peterson said that Alumni Hall is just the start of other facility improvements on campus.
“We are not finished,” he said. “We have many projects planned. For me personally, the reopening symbolizes more than just a physical renovation; it represents renewal and forward momentum for Bluefield University.”
