Students Invited to Submit Works to The Bluestone Review
The 2022 edition of The Bluestone Review is now accepting submissions. The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2022.
The Bluestone Review, which is published annually, is a literary publication created and published by Bluefield University students. The review accepts submissions from the community of Bluefield, and surrounding areas, with a special call to the students of Bluefield University. The Bluestone Review accepts poems, short stories, creative non-fiction, song lyrics, photographs, paintings, and drawings.
Prose submissions must be no more than 750 words, and no more than five submissions will be accepted by each contributor. With submissions, please include your name, address, contact information, and one biographical sentence. The journal will be available at the Bluefield University bookstore.
Bluefield University English professor Dr. Rob Merritt oversees The Bluestone Review with its rotating staff of Bluefield University students; however, this year will be his last as Dr. Merritt is retiring after the 2021-2022 academic year. Dr. Merritt started The Bluestone Review more than 30 years ago, and he is asking as many former editors on the review that he can find to contribute.
This year, current BU students Faith Lambert and James Grayson are the editors of The Bluestone Review. Plans are being made for a reception in late April to unveil the 2022 edition.
