Final Fall Activities for BU Students

Sports medicine • 2023

Just because the fall semester is coming to a close doesn’t mean there still aren’t on-campus activities for students. In fact, the university will be hosting a number of fun and exciting fall activities for students and employees.

The campus community is invited to take part in a tailgate prior to the men’s and women’s basketball games on Thursday, November 11. The tailgate will begin at 4:30 p.m. outside of the Dome Gymnasium, followed by a Lady Rams basketball game at 5:30 in the Dome and the men’s basketball game at 7:30 p.m. in the Dome.

On Friday, November 12, Broadway touring show performer Shaun Moe will present “Broadway at Bluefield,” a musical theatre showcase, at 7:30 p.m. in Harman Chapel. In addition to hearing Moe perform Broadway selections, listeners will be invited to take part in the performances.

BU’s Black Student Alliance will host “A Night Under a Thousand Stars,” a bonfire gathering at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17 outside of the Dome. S’mores, hot cocoa and roasted hot dogs will be served. The event will also feature music, trivia games and prizes.

Students and employees are also invited to Friendsgiving, a Thanksgiving celebration on Thursday, November 18. Sponsored by the university and Pioneer Food Services, the event will take place in the cafeteria during lunch hours.

After the last day of class, BU will host its annual Winter Solace, Thursday, December 2 at 7 p.m. in the Student Activities Center. This annual event that features food and fun activities is designed to celebrate the culmination of a long, hard semester.

Finally, the last event of the fall semester will be BU’s annual Christmas at Bluefield performance, a musical and theatrical showcase presented by the school’s Departments of Music and Theatre. Christmas at Bluefield will take place Saturday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Harman Chapel.

“It takes a different amount of time to plan different activities,” said Zoe Laney, BU’s director of student engagement. “The more vendors we have the easier it is to plan.”
