Local Church Brings Bible Study to BU

Graphic Communications • 2022

Bluefield University students have access to numerous opportunities on campus to worship and grow their faith through the school’s own Campus Ministries, but the latest spiritual growth initiative for students is one sponsored by a local church and one with added benefits.

Parkview Baptist Church in Bluefield, VA, began hosting a weekly lunchtime Bible study on campus on Tuesday, September 14 and has continued to host the gathering every Tuesday at noon in Shott Hall room B. Everyone in the campus community is invited to attend. Even students who have class until 12:15 p.m. are encouraged to come afterward. The study concludes prior to 1:00 p.m. classes.

BU senior and Parkview member Daniel Mullins is leading the study through the book of James.

“We’ve had great questions and discussions about faith, wisdom, trials, and temptations. I really love this time for building relationships with others at Bluefield University and pursuing God together,” Mullins said.

In addition to providing BU students with an opportunity to grow their faith, the church said it hopes to build relationships with students while on a journey to understand and emphasize the word of God. Students who participate and sign up each week at the cafeteria register receive their lunch for free.

Anyone interested in being a part of the Bible study can contact Mullins by email at wdmullins@bluefield.edu.
