I personally do not like the new SAC. I feel like we have lost all of our comfortable seating, and every little sound is now amplified since they took the ceiling tiles out. I miss having shades on the windows, there is no way to keep the sun out of your eyes while sitting in there now. Also, the cement table and coffee tables are chipping and are becoming sharp and the floor tiles are breaking and sliding around. I miss the old SAC, I miss the old activities, and I don’t feel like I could hang in there like I used to. I have been at this school a while and this year I have seen fewer people hanging out in there than any of the previous years. It’s just sad to see a good thing gone.
I completely agree! It is not comfy at all anymore. If they wanted to update it, they should have just changed the color palette. I feel like they wanted it to look a certain way to make the college up-to-date in time but it does not work. It is super loud in there and I do not like going in there anymore. They need more seating that is actually comfortable and oversized rugs to soften it up. Definitely also needs something to absorb the echoing sounds in there as well. Students did not ask for this update so I am just tired at this point honestly.
The echo is pretty frustrating, especially when you’re trying to focus.
Exactly, I feel like I have to scream just so I can converse with those around me. And its embarrassing when I’m talking louder and all the noise suddenly stops. Something needs to be added to minimize the echo.
