Local Businesses Offer Discounts to BC Students

College students are always wondering, asking and searching for student discounts. They want to know what businesses or companies offer discounts that benefit them. When it comes to student discounts, Bluefield College students have many options.

One of the most talked about discounts around campus is the one offered by Chick-fil-A at the Mercer Mall. Chick-fil-A hosts a Spirit Night every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. With a Bluefield College student identification (ID), students can receive a free Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich, Chick-fil-A spicy chicken sandwich, or eight-count Chick-fil-A nugget with the purchase of large waffle potato fries and a large drink.

Both Mexican restaurants in Bluefield, VA – La Fiesta and El Patio – offer discounts to college students. Students with a Bluefield College ID receive a 10 percent discount on meals at La Fiesta.

“We especially give a student discount before and during the exams,” said the restaurant.

BB&T Bank in Bluefield, VA, offers a college student banking account. The account is a basic checking account, but with no minimum balance requirement, no fees for ATM transactions, no maintenance fees, and no direct deposit requirements. The student banking account also comes with free overdraft protection with an option for a personalized debit card or mobile banking.

On campus, the Bluefield College Campus Store also offers student discounts on items purchased. In addition, students are admitted free to all BC athletic and performing arts events.
